Pomorskie is famous for its excellent marine infrastructure and perfect conditions for taking up different sports. Mother Nature was generous – the coasts of Gdańsk and Puck Bays are among top of the places for kite- and windsurfing. The relatively small area includes calm waters that allow for a cautious beginning of any sea adventure, but also rough winds – a real challenge even for the professionals, who have already realized the true potential that lies in the Polish coast. Beginners can try out one of numerous schools and professional staff. You will find many water equipment rentals and kitesurfing centers in the Hel Spit, but you are not limited to this area. Łeba, Rewa or Puck are also worth looking into.

Those seeking sea asylum will not have any reasons to complain, too. Of course, after you embark on your cruise there are several obligatory places to visit, including marina in Gdańsk or the one recently constructed by the longest European pier, in Sopot. Let us not forget Gdynia – which without doubt is the regional sailing capital and where international events take place. If you are not interested in sailing and surfing but would still like to enjoy the beautiful Baltic Sea, let me recommend something different. At your disposal there are: ferries, hydrofoils, fishing boats or the children-favorite pirate ship replicas. Among those there is the water tram, one of the most interesting options that is not only entertainment itself but simply a very comfortable and quick means of transport from Trictity to the Hel peninsula.

There are numerous events worth mentioning that, each year, attract all sorts of water lovers, such as: Baltic Sail, the largest international sailing event in Gdańsk, or Operation Gdynia Sails, aimed at amateurs of larger vessels. Speaking of sailing, we cannot miss out on mentioning regattas, and among them: Tricity Sailing Cup in the marinas of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia, the three major regional sailing centers, and Volvo Gdynia Sailing Days, which attracts the amateurs of sport sailing. The real icing to this sailing cake is Sopot Match Race regatta, where the best professional sailing teams compete for the ISAF Sailing World Cup.
