Centre of Rehabilitation MEWA. Clinic with a view over the sea.
On the hill – Kamienny Potok railway station in Sopot – with the view over Gdansk Bay and a 15-minute walk from the picturesque sand beaches there you find the Centre of Rehabilitation ‘Mewa’. The name is substantial, as the patients listen to the seagulls’ screaming every day every season.
The Sopot Centre of Rehabilitation ‘Mewa’ has been open since December 2013. And thus the rehabilitants and physiotherapists of the highest class provide the patients suffering from different locomotor system diseases with good medical treatment.
Offer of The Sopot Centre of Rehabilitation ‘Mewa’
‘We offer comprehensive orthopedic, neurological, post-traumatic, post-accidental, post-stroke and, finally, sport rehabilitation, including also a series of preventive pro-health programs. We heal a great number of ad hoc cases, pains in the shoulders and knees, muscle tensions, degenerative ailments, post-operative difficult cases of strokes or amputations,’ Piotr Kopeć, owner of Centre of Rehabilitation ‘Mewa’ says.
Every cycle of the procedures is preceded by a gratuitous visit to a physiotherapist, who checks the patient’s mobility. Next, the specialist recommends an individual program of rehabilitation designed and adjusted to the patient’s needs. The therapist accompanies the patients throughout the entire process of rehabilitation. He is to support him and help to seek fitness.
The Clinic is famous of, first and foremost, professional kinesiotherapy. A stabilizing, functional training, including exercises in a group, affecting the healthy vertebral column – this is the principal offer of the Clinic. Within the manual therapy and under the experts’ supervision the patients do exercises on the mattresses and matts, on the ladders, using the balls and bands or on trampoline and using rollers.
Physiotherapy supplements kinesiotherapy. During the procedures special devices are used in treatment with ultrasounds, in laser therapy and electrotherapy. In addition, the Clinic possesses a shockwave device which is the best for healing the calcaneal spur.
The offer includes massages – starting from classic to special ones (e.g. massage of deep tissues) and ending with relaxation massages.
Apart from the foregoing, children are also treated in the Centre of Rehabilitation. The regular activities conducted by therapists allow them to eliminate the bad postures, scoliosis or platypodia. The exercises are adjusted to the requirements of the youngest patients and they often take a form of fitness trails where particular exercises are done at particular stops.
The physiotherapists working for the Centre of Rehabilitation in Sopot are the experts holding not only university diplomas, but also numerous certificates and qualifications – they are MT manual therapists according to IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopedic and Manual Therapists).
Beside the comprehensively fitted gym room, the Clinic disposes of two studies to diagnose the patients, rooms to make massages and provide manual therapy and physiotherapeutic workstations.
The facility construction is an additional advantage. It is situated on the ground floor only. You do not need to go upstairs or to use an elevator to reach a particular room.
‘We want our patients to feel naturally and most comfortable. Therefore, our facility is arranged in a modern but cozy way. We simply rely on pleasant family atmosphere. We would like our guests to think that Centre of Rehabilitation ‘Mewa’ is a place where they are always cared for and pampered,’ Piotr Kopeć adds.
