The Tricity Sailing Cup is a great opportunity to try your hand at competing with the best Polish and international crews. The third edition of the regatta will be held from 29-31 May!
Like in the previous years, the order of visiting the host cities will change. The inauguration of the event will take place in Gdynia, where all wind&water lovers will converge on May 29 to begin the season. The Tricity Sailing Cup 2015 is, in fact, the official opening regatta of the Pomorskie Sailing Season. After the official ceremony in Marina Gdynia, on May 30, the crews will move to the water to take part in the first races. The yachts will compete opposite the Sopot pier, a perfect observation spot for the spectators. The competition will be held in several classes: KWR, ORC and Open (yacht categories: up to 7 meters, 7 to 9 meters and above 9 meters). Not unlike every year, a general classification prize will be awarded. The final day of the regatta with the award ceremony will take place on May 31 in Gdańsk, near the Main Town.
This year’s event will be special, as it marks the inauguration of the 50th anniversary of the Pomeranian Sailing Association – the organizer of the regatta. One of the greatest attraction this year will be the participation of the Polish Navy 3rd Flotilla units.
The event is aimed primarily at integrating the sailing community has gained a substantial number of supporters, for whom it has become a permanent fixture on their calendar. Each year, it gathers dozens of crews from amateurs to hardcore professionals. The regatta is an opportunity to meet other water&wind lovers, exchange experiences, together celebrate the beginning of the season after the winter pause. The sailing excitement on the waters of the Bay of Gdańsk is followed by attractions on land.
