The Museum of Central Pomerania in Słupsk is situated in a complex of buildings located in the city’s centre. It includes several picturesque objects on both sides of the Słupia river:
- the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle from 16th century
- the Castle Mill from 14th century
- the Manor from 1970s
- the Mill Gate from 14th century
- Richter’s Granary from 18th century
- the White Granary built in 1814
- the Red Granary from 20th century (before renovation, not available for the visitors).
The Museum of Central Pomerania in Słupsk is a multi-departmental museum. It comprises not only the Słupsk complex, but also two branches: the Slowinski Village Museum in Kluki and the Museum of Pomeranian Folk Culture in Swołów.
The museum has rich collections related to the history of Pomerania, ancient and contemporary art, crafts, numismatics and ethnography, as well as special collections including old prints, cartography and archives. Its pride is the world’s largest collection of works by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz – Witkacy.
