Strawberry Picking is the largest outdoor event in the Kashubian region – it has been taking place for over 40 years, always at the turn of June and July.This enormous folk fest has been hosted by the Kartuzy county since 1971 on the Golden Mountain near Brodnica Górna. The event is continuously developed and attracts a growing number of exhibitors and visitors – local and tourists alike. The highlight of the event is strawberries served in a broad variety of shapes and tastes, all in accordance with the motto: everything about strawberries!At the festival you will find numerous trading and food stalls. The legacy of the Kashubian culture, amateur and professional, is presented through different artistic performances and competitions. Among the attractions you will also find a fishing contest, strawberry stalls, a presentation of Kashubian folk art, horse tram rides and many other. Throughout the event strawberry producers offer their goods in the form of fresh fruit or strawberry mousse.
Strawberry Picking is also accompanied by numerous competitions such as the best strawberry cake or the biggest strawberry contests. One of the most interesting contests is the “strawberry trifle” competition, announced in the local press and its winners are selected during the festival.
