‘Stilo’ lighthouse and the surrounding beach

Anyone who enjoys wild beaches will love this place. It is not without a reason that someone has written “the end of the world” on the signpost that says ‘Stilo’ (historical and colloquial name, nowadays Stilo is known as Osetnik) . With a bit of luck, especially out of season, there won’t be a single soul on Stilo beach.

A popular tourist attraction, the Stilo Lighthouse is located about 5 km from the village. At the top of the lighthouse there are two galleries, open to the public, and the trip ends with a beautiful view of the wooded coastline.

Biała Góra – the lock that separates the Vistula and Nogat rivers

Biała Góra is a picturesque village, full of lush forests and hiking and cycling trails. Here, we will find peace and quiet, as well as crisp air. In addition, it is home to a real gem for lovers of hydrotechnical architecture and unusual buildings – a canal lock complex. Its history dates back to the sixteenth century, but over the years they were first devastated, and later renovated and extended several times. The building has two functions: first, it divides the waters of the Vistula and Nogat rivers, and second, it pleases the eye. Not without reason it is called the “Water Castle”. It is crowned with two impressive, neo-Gothic towers. And upon reaching the top of the complex, a picturesque panorama of the Vistula Valley will spread in front of our eyes.

Piaski & the Vistula Spit

Piaski is a village about 12 km from Krynica Morska. Peace and quiet are the most important things to be found here, but there is also forest and plenty of wild areas. Piaski is said to be the most virgin area of the Vistula Spit. Ideal for a walk along the seashore or one of the forest paths. And if you prefer lengthier strolls, you may end up at the Polish-Russian border. Remember, however, that you must not cross it. The Vistula Spit still hides many attractions, including the legendary Pirate Mountain (Góra Pirata), which is a perfect observation point for amateur ornithologists. From there, you can observe the “dance” of millions of birds, flying over a narrow strip of land. A half-kilometre-long educational trail leads to the top of the Pirate Mountain. The trail is full of didactic boards and benches scattered along it, for those seeking relaxation.
