Do you want to feel like the hero of a film or a beloved book? Or perhaps you want to immerse yourself in the sounds of classical music or hard rock? We have prepared for you a list of the most interesting Pomeranian themed places that will take you to a world of magical experiences. Here are Pomeranian locations inspired by movies, literature and music.

Places where you will feel like you are in a movie

For cinema lovers, we recommend staying at the Hampton by Hilton hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of Gdańsk on the site of the former Neptun cinema and draws inspiration from this history. You can feel the cinematic atmosphere here at every corner. In the rooms you will find film accents, the walls in the corridors inspire with quotes, and in the restaurant characters from cult films smile at us. The old movie lamps located on the ground floor in the common area are quite a treat. At Hampton by Hilton, you’ll feel the magic of old cinema in a very modern style.

If you are a Harry Potter fan, you must visit the Ministry of Magic in Gdańsk. Both the décor and the menu have been prepared to please the biggest lovers of the wizarding world. Here you’ll order creamy beer – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions, eat cauldrons full of hot soup and Zgredek’s beloved pizza. The menu is divided into departments, each presenting a different category of food. So, for example – you’ll find pastas in the witch department and salads in the grove department. It’s a family restaurant, so there’s also a children’s menu. And if you’re feeling unsatisfied with Potter, pop into the Felix Felicis pub in Gdańsk Wrzeszcz for a magical cocktail.

Fans of the hilarious group of friends from the sitcom ‘Friends’ are invited to coffee and homemade cake at the Coffee Perk café in Gdańsk Oliwa. Here you can enjoy a good cup of coffee or a cup of tea – relaxing on the orange sofa, just like in the TV series’ Central Perk cafe. The cafe has plenty of TV series touches and delicious cake that you’ll want to come back for.

The intimate and very atmospheric Gdańsk film café W starym kadrze is a must-visit for any fan of old cinema. Here you will find peace and quiet, cinematic decor and a menu full of iconic characters. Enjoy a warming cup of tea or aromatic coffee and order something sweet. In the basement of the café, there is a cinema where themed screenings take place. After a sweet treat, you can direct your steps to the next-door place, this time on Szeroka Street. There you will find another themed pub – Pub Polskie Kino.

From Gdańsk, we move to Gdynia. There, we recommend stopping by FaBuła – cinema cafe & bar in the Gdynia Film Centre. The place combines love for cinema, coffee and long conversations. Here you will get delicious coffee and tea, homemade cakes, dry tarts and grilled sandwiches. And if you want to get in the mood even more – we recommend directing your steps to an equally atmospheric café, inspired by cinema – Cafe Klaps.

Restaurants from which good music comes

Connoisseurs of classical music are invited to the Filharmonia restaurant in Gdańsk. Noteworthy – apart from the location and good food, of course – are the wall paintings, which are the perfect backdrop for beautiful shots. This is a place with soul, where you can taste Kashubian and Polish cuisine. You can try, for example, herring tartare, oyster mushrooms in a crispy coating, Kashubian mustard soup or veal Wiener Schnitzel. There are also suggestions for vegetarians. And for dessert – creme brûlée, chocolate fondant or the insane apple pie with caramel and the addition of golden water – Goldwasser.

Want to feel the rock? Plan a visit to Slupsk’s Dym na wodzie restaurant. It’s a place inspired by Deep Purple’s hit song “Smoke on the water”. Here you will enjoy local Kashubian cuisine, fresh Baltic fish and meat straight from Kashubia. On the menu, you will find, among others, goose liver from a pan on butter, beef tartare, Kashubian herring with cranberries and onions, zeppelins stuffed with duck, baked meatballs of local lamb, roast goose or aubergine steak. The restaurant is located in a building where a large Słupsk brickworks thrived 160 years earlier.

Restaurants and cafés where good literature rules

Sztuka Wyboru is a multifaceted concept in Gdańsk, located on two floors of a historic 19th century building. A combination of a café with a bookshop and an art gallery in one. All filled with the best of Polish design, aromatic coffee and plenty of sweets. It is a great place to relax and immerse yourself in a good book with a freshly roasted coffee, a warming tea infusion or a refreshing lemonade.

Literacka – Restaurant & Wine Bar is a place that no lover of good literature will pass by indifferently. It is located in a tenement house on one of the most romantic streets in Gdańsk – Mariacka Street. The venue hosts events revolving around literature. And all this accompanied by well-composed dishes and a glass of selected wine.
