It is time to begin the summer holiday season in Pomorskie. July will be action-packed. On the list of events recommended by us, you will find, among others, music and theatre festivals, trade fairs full of handicraft products and good food as well as various shows. Here are the most interesting Pomeranian events scheduled for July  – in chronological order.

Pomorskie events – Open’er

Open’er is literally the opening gig of July events in Pomorskie. Do not be surprised by the wild, colourful crowds of people all around the Tricity area at the end of June and beginning of July. The music festival attracts hundreds of thousands of people to Gdynia every year. No wonder, because the line-up is always top-notch. In this year’s edition, which starts on June 28th and ends on July 1st, artists such as OneRepublic, Lizzo and Lil Nas X will perform.

Sacral music that touches the soul is the proposition of the 46th  International Festival of Organ, Choral and Chamber Music in Gdańsk. It is a series of events which has by now become a major part of the city’s musical culture. Music is generated by a true work of art – a historical instrument:  46-voice organ. All this under the starry vault of the St. Mary Church in Gdańsk. Organ concerts will take place every Friday in July and August at 8:15 pm.  The first one is on July 7th.

Pomorskie events – Gdynia Design Days

Gdynia Design Days is an annual design festival, each year inspired by a different idea. This year’s edition will revolve around the keyword “stability”. From July 1st to July 9th, we will search for stability in an unstable world through participation in vernissages, exhibitions, urban forest baths and discussions. It’s worth being here for valuable content and to find a sea of inspiration.

Theatre enthusiasts will be delighted by FETA 2023 – the International Festival of Outdoor and Street Theatres, which will take place between the 7th and 9th of July. The opening ceremony will be held at the People’s Assembly Square in Gdańsk and most of the performances can be seen in  Ronald Reagan’s Park and its surroundings. And now for something completely different: attention all sailing enthusiasts. From July 7th to July 10th, Gdańsk will host a truly spectacular sailing event. The 27th edition of the Baltic Sail Tall Ships Regatta will be located at Podwale Staromiejskie, by Targ Rybny and along the Motława waterfront. Iconic sailing boats from all over Europe will come to Gdańsk. Accompanying attractions are also planned: there will be sea shanties, historical events’ re-enactments performed by special reconstruction groups and a zone for children.

Pomorskie events – Baltic Sail

The weekend of July 20-22 will be dedicated to music from different parts of the world. Globaltica is a beautiful and colourful festival where you can immerse yourself in multicultural music. Artists from e.g.: Zimbabwe, Nepal, Peru, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Cuba and, of course, Poland will perform for us. The festival apart from music, offers plenty of good food and attractions for both children and adults. It’s worth a visit with the whole family.

Pomorskie events- St. Dominic’s Fair in Gdańsk

July 22 is also a date when the famous St. Dominic’s Fair in Gdańsk starts. The tradition of the fair dates back to 1260 and continues to this day. It is a celebration of trade, craftsmanship and good food. On the vast area various activities are scheduled.: an evening cultural zone, a relaxation zone called “Przystanek Ołowianka Pod Żaglami,” jazz Wednesdays on the Island, film Thursdays and Fridays with DJs. There will also be a Bread Fest, Pomeranian Craftsmanship display and Kociewie festival. A beef feast by The Neptune Fountain and many other attractions for children and adults are planned, too.

Pomorskie events – The Shakespeare Festival

The Shakespeare Festival will start on July 27th, and its motto this year, drawn from “King Lear” by William Shakespeare, is “The excellent foppery of the world.” This slogan is a response to the problems of the modern world, such as war, post-pandemic reality, inflation, climate-related crises, bloody protests in Iran or a World Cup marked by the suffering of innocent people and the silencing of athletes fighting for human rights. During the festival, we will see performances from Spain, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom and Poland.
