Pandemic restrictions, including wearing obligatory face masks outdoors, can stay with us longer than we thought. The need to cover our faces makes us look for new possibilities of expressing ourselves and our style. Designers from Pomorskie have, as always, delivered by offering face masks based on original designs. Buying these masks helps local brands to survive during these trying times.

The masked face of Gdańsk

Local, Gdańsk-themed face masks, can be purchased in the store of Magda Beneda. Today, the regional workshop offers three-layered and tripe pleated cotton masks. They are colourful, pleasing to the eye and reminiscent of the times it was possible to stroll along the picturesque streets of Old Gdańsk. The masks are reusable, can be washed in a washing machine and ironed. There are „adult” and „children” variants, each mask costs 25 PLN. They can be found on www.magdabeneda.pl, in the “accessories” section.

Zero-waste rainbow

Marcelina Rozmus-Prinz and her brand, Mana Mana. Currently, aside from vibrantly colourful bags–the brand’s trademark–the store also offers face masks in all colours of the rainbow. An enormous asset of these masks is the “zero waste” philosophy; the masks are made out of leftover bag material. This also randomises available colours and patterns, introducing an element of surprise! The offer also contains mono-coloured, black or pink, masks. All masks come have two layers of 100% Polish cotton and can be ordered online from www.manashop.pl. A 5-piece package costs 65 PLN.

Face masks, kimono style

Karolina Kalska is a Polish handball player and Polish champion. She followed her heart and created a fashion brand in Gdynia: K-Kalska. The designer creates women’s fashion, knowing that her female customers value original combinations of patterns, colours and materials. One of the particularly popular products from the collection is the wide range of coloured kimonos. To meet the needs of her Clients, Kalska also created a collection of original face masks. Their designs are colourful, just like the above-mentioned kimonos. Masks are reusable and come at 20 PLN per piece. They can be ordered in the on-line store at www.sklep.k-kalska.com, in the “New Items” section.

Sensual silk touch

The masks created by the Pomorskie-based Silk Epoque by Olga Ziemann will make you feel elegance and luxury. There are two models: mono-coloured silk mask with a filter pocket (49 PLN) and silk with lace and a natural cotton filter (149 PLN). All come in a wide range of colours, from cream, through flaming red, to deep black. Masks can be washed in a washing machine and ironed with hot steam. Silk mask filters (5PLN) can be purchased on www.silk-epoque.pl, as well as silk storage bags (40 PLN per piece).
